Our strategy is to continually improve our safety systems, processes and programs. We do this because construction is a complex environment where people with different skills, backgrounds and priorities are working together. Finding safer ways of working requires information and instructions to be simple, easy and accessible to everyone.

Our approach starts with safety innovation where we pioneer improvements in safety through leveraging our in-house digital engineering team to continually find ways to make safe work practices easier to follow. We are continually simplifying our systems and processes to make it easy and accessible to inform, to instruct and to collaborate in safer ways of working.

Whether it be using 3D modelling to further mitigate risks in design, using predictive analysis to identify risks, or transforming paper-based SWMS documentation to an interactive mobile-ready application for subcontractors, we are always finding ways to innovate.

At Built, our dedicated and experienced Digital Engineering team work closely with our safety team to improve the way we identify, manage and mitigate risks from initial design through construction and delivery. This is how we continue to find safer ways of working.

Risk mitigation through 3D modelling

Through visualisations and modelling of the construction sequences, risks can be identified in the virtual world, significantly reducing unforeseen circumstances.
Safety in design

The design process will be completed in 3D, including all Safety in Design reviews, providing the opportunity for stakeholders, including facility management, to have input during the design phase.
SimpliSWMS

An intelligent solution for the management of High-Risk Construction Work which leverages industry knowledge and know-how and harnesses construction best practice. Simple and visible workflows assist with compliance and version control while increased worker engagement with use of spoken language, iconography and visual representation of the controls ensures an improved comprehension. Designed and developed by Built, this award-winning solution is made available to industry, improving the Safe Work Method Statement effectiveness for the management of High-Risk Construction Work.
Hilti Jaibot

Reducing workers exposure to risk can include advancements in technology. Just like Hilti’s Jaibot trialled at Built sites. The Jaibot uses 3D modelling to autonomously identify locations at site, complete drilling into silica containing material and identify the location according to the trade requirement.
Virtual site inspections

Initially developed due to COVID restrictions, virtual site walkthroughs can now be completed when required with the use of Hololens 2 glasses.
Power BI

Built harvest a wide range of Health, Safety and Environment performance indicators in our activities at site which collates into a mass of data and possible learnings. Built utilise PowerBi to provide visual representation of the counts and trends and enable effective analysis. The trend analysis provides Built with actionable insight and enables informed decision making by the business, project team and project leaders.
